This fun piece brings together 3 different elements from recent paintings: beach, airplane, and neon.

The neon is the base layer under most of my paintings. It represents the vibrance under the surface. Call it potential. Call it the bright parts of ourselves hiding behind a more muted exterior. Whatever you want to call it, it starts coming to the surface here. I place tape on top of the neon and then paint on top. At the end, the tape is peeled back to reveal the neon below.

I see travel as a beautiful way to grow and learn. As we see different environments and people, it shakes up our everyday experience. It brings a richness to life that’s hard to get any other way. Even if travel is just a pina colada in your hand, soaking in the sun rays, and listening to the waves churn.

This piece has me dreaming of fun adventures ahead and nostalgic for the happy memories of the past.
